After two long days on the road we are here on the coast in Oregon. My kitchen is almost unpacked and I look forward to preparing our first meal. Thought I'd share a few pictures of the town where we have spent our last seven summers. The above picture is where the Yachats river flows into the Pacific ocean.
This little road is called Ocean View Drive and follows along from the ocean to the bay. Also the road where the great annual 4th of July parade travels on.
Here is the Yachats Farm Store where you can buy organic vegetables and plants. They also serve locally sourced foods and have a fermented vegetable menu. Currently they are building a place to brew beer in the back.
Bread and Roses is a local bakery that uses organic ingredients to make different kinds of breads and goodies. Breakfast and lunch is also served.
Another little local makes himself right at home...........just wish he didn't have to cross the street to get here.
Cheri Savory Spoon
Mysavoryspoon was first started in 2010 as a way to journal recipes that I had collected from cookbooks, magazines, family and friends. Most everything was savory, using legumes and whole grains. Along the way I discovered a love for baking. Now a couple times a month you might see some type of sweet pie or treat.
